Teresa Hall Franklin, Ed.S., is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and a Certified Anger Management Facilitator for adolescents and adults. She earned her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Sociology with Honors from LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, TN and both a Master of Science Degree in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership and Education Specialist Degree in Counseling from the University of Memphis. She completed her internship training at Nia Therapy Services and soon thereafter was employed by The Exchange Club Family Center as a Family Services Coordinator for Anger Management and Domestic Violence Prevention. She is Adjunct Faculty at LeMoyne-Owen College for all Psychology related courses. Her past experience also includes General Studies Department Chair at National College and the founder of Transitional Anger Management Services, MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) where she provides seminars and workshops on stress management, anger management, emotional intelligence, communication skills, and opioid dependency counseling to profit and non-profit agencies. Transitional Anger Management Services has been featured in the Commercial Appeal, City of Memphis Contract Compliance Newsletter, and Memphis Parent Magazine. She has appeared on Wife Swap, as a Communication Skills Specialist for ABC Network, News Channel 3 Live @ 9 as an Anger Management Specialist in 2008-2015, Action News Channel 5 in 2011, Fox News 13 in 2011, and ABC24 News in 2010. She coordinated the 1st Women’s Day Summit for Temple of Deliverance COGIC and is involved in special projects with The Summits at Health Quest, Hope Presbyterian Church, and Belmont CME Church. She continues to inspire and teach others how to transition into a more positive, peaceful, and productive state of being.

ANGER is a natural and human emotion.
ANGER is expressed through four communication styles-aggression, deference, passive-aggressiveness, and assertion.
ANGER expressed in harmful and destructive ways can damage one’s personal and professional relationships.
ANGER expressed through assertion can enhance one’s relationships and lead to better understanding and effective communication.
UNDERSTANDING STRESS
STRESS is an imbalance between our responsibilities and the resources we have to meet them.
STRESS is everywhere and must be managed in healthy ways to reduce emotional and physical burnout.
STRESS symptoms fall into 3 categories: Physical, Mental, and Behavioral.
STRESS levels can be lowered through time-management techniques, relaxation and deep breathing methods, and sensory stimulation.
STRESS can lead to mental and physical health problems if poorly managed.

As a client, all information you share about yourself will be kept confidential. Only with your written permission will information be released to anyone outside of the Transitional Anger Management except as required by law. Legal exceptions include the following:
• Clear and imminent danger to you or someone else
• If there is a reasonable expectation that you will engage in dangerous conduct as defined by Tennessee state statute
• Reasonable suspicion that a child or elder is currently being abused a court order
